It is time to start playing our first song “Ode to Joy” taken from the 9th Symphony of Ludwig Van Beethoven, a German composer who lived during the Romantic musical era
We will start with a Duet. This is an arrangement and the Piano accompaniment will play very different rhythms, so please remember to count throughout the song:
Now is the turn of the left hand. The melody is the same but the accompaniment is slightly different as it has been moved higher to a lower register, try to listen to the difference between having it on the lowest register (below the melody) and having it on the highest register (above our melody):
